My Love For Kim K. and "Beauty" Throughout The Ages

most.beautiful.goddess.

Okay, so I know it's incredibly cliche to do a Kim K post these days, but I don't even watch Keeping up with Kardashians .. I've just loved Kim K since the minute I saw her!!

I love her eyes, her skin tone, her jet black hair, everything! She blows Meagan Fox out of the water to be sure.

The thing I love most about her though, is how she suddenly broke the mould of what is considered beautiful in Hollywood. Before her it was still all about being a pin-thin lollipop head. Nicole, Lindsay, Mary-Kate .. they all looked like sickly little girls on their death bed.

I'll admit I used to be a waif as well. All I cared about was fitting into those 24" pair of true religions. I'm still considered slim now by people who look at me, but I have a healthy glow and a bit more meat on my bones.

Beauty to me, is about being feminine and curvy, and Kim has most definitely brought this timeless look back into "style".

Isn't it funny how what's considered beautiful changes throughout the decades?

By today's standards, Marilyn would be considered over weight, but back then, her curves were a symbol of beauty, youth, and sex appeal.
***
From the 40s onward, the idea of what was beautiful slowly began shrinking to smaller sizes. Even so, in the "supermodel hay days" of Cindy Crawford, Naomi Campbell, and Christie Brinkley, a healthy looking frame was still maintained.
...
Then came the mid-90s, and with it "heroin chic"; Kate Moss, the original waif:

The skin and bones look remained on the runways but dissipated slightly from the mainstream until it's sad return in the mid 00s with the help of emaciated fashion stylist Rachel Zoe.

So these were the starlets I sadly looked up to when a young girl thinks she needs a celeb figure to look up to.
Beauty is about being happy in your own skin. Whether you are naturally thin or naturally curvy; both are beautiful. Just don't try to be anything you're not!
I'm over-joyed that after those few years of girls looking up to pin-thin celebs and crafting their looks after them, there is a starlet in the main spotlight who isn't afraid to rock her curves again!

Beautiful, healthy, and most def well fed.
I love you, Kim K!

And Now Another Sweet Award For Me =)

Irene Was kind enough to grant me this award, and I love it! I think it's so cute. I love anything Japanese Cutsey lol, (what else can you call it?) My sedan used to be decked out in everything Hello Kitty - HK floor mats, seat belt covers, dashboard bobbles lol .. yeah, I went a bit overboard. But I've always loved Jap culture and my dream vacay would be TOKYO, baby! I just find the Japanese so mysterious, probably because it's one of the furthest types of culture from our own. Mmm, sushi every day, sake, high rise penthouses; yep, it's my kinda place. Now I just need to make those millions...

I also love love love Gyaru Fashion!!!

I tag ANYONE who wants this award. I know I always just "tag everyone", but I think everyone deserves it!!

Have A Great Day!!

Chloe film

Saw Chloe this weekend and loved it!More of an art-house film than I expected, it was hard to find a theatre playing it. Nonetheless, it was worth the drive.

It was messed up, full of drama and a wee bit kinky;)
A welcome departure from the typical American blockbuster

Have you seen this movie?
What did you think?

Too Faced Kabuki Brush Review!

As always when shopping at Sephora, I headed in with the intent of buying just one thing (in this case, sunless tanner for my trip) and left with that and much more=) This time it was the adorable Too Faced Kabuki Brush =) (31.00 CDN)I was looking at a big fat Sephora Bronzer brush from their platinum line, when one of their super skilled sales girls lead me over to the Too Faced section and showed me this pink little gem. Of course with it being bright pink and covered in cherry blossoms, I threw it in my basket asap. Isn't it cute?!
I love that they call the bristles "teddy bear hair". Teddies wouldn't mind letting us use their fluffy hair to make ourselves beautiful right? It's a nicer alternative to genuine animal hair.
For this look I merrily swirled the kabuki into my Smashbox Baked Fusion Star Lights bronzer and then mixed it with a little Nars Super Orgasm.
I love this brush, but let's be honest, my heart was sold the minute my eyes met the glittery pink casing at Sephora.

Have You Used This Kabuki Brush?

Vacation Recap & Giveaway Closure!

I had an amazing vacation! I uploaded only a few pics, but hopefully they give you an idea of the time we had - relaxing! We honestly did NOTHING but lay on the beach all day drinking mojitos. It was complete laziness and I loved every minute of it! I've spent too many "holidays" with an itenerary of activities longer than my arm, and while I love all of the things there are to do in the Carribean, I wanted at least one holiday where I did nothing but soak up the sun with a buzz =) It was definitely accomplished=)

The best part of the trip by far though, was our private dinner on the beach=)
It was a four course meal with our own private waiter, with crashing waves and candle light.
Lobster (my fave) and Filet Mignon =)
We also think we have FINALLY decided on a place for our wedding - Dreams Tulum. Hopefully all of the mayhem in Mexico will have died down by then .. (May 2011)

And last but not least my GIVEAWAY CLOSED last night at 12am MST. As previously posted, the winner will be announed by next weekend.

Thank-You To Everyone Who Entered!
