These assumptions marked in red are incorrect. ROW has been consolidated into 1 category to simplify the visa bulletin. ICMP countries exceed the quota, that's why they have separate entries. If another country exceeds the quota U.K. for example, then it'll have it own column in the visa bulletin. The quota for EB-ROW is 40K - per country limit for ICMP for that category X 4. That's why EB3 India has been getting screwed ever since they re-interpreted the spillover rules (in the middle of 2008). Otherwise, you would see EB3 ICMP get at least 8K GCs in 2009.
1) Each (EB1/2/3) - 28.6% WW quota = 40040
2) 5 subscription cataegories under each EB category: I,P,C,M,ROW
) Assumption - USCIS distributes equal share amon3g these 5 different subscription categories = 40040/5 =8008 in each EB category for a particular subscription category.
Example:
EB3 All = 40040 ( 0.286 x 140000)
EB3 ALL = EB3 I + EB3 C + EB3 M + EB3 P + EB3 ROW
Assuming equal share of all of these 5 subscription categories - 40040/5 = 8008 applications to be worked for "Assigning the visa number" not " for granting the visa (IN other words physical greencard order)"
7% + 2% = 9% country specific limit is meant for "Granting the visa - Ordering Physical Green card" out of "Applications which have been assigned a visa number" NOT FOR "Assigning the visa number"

Congrats ski_dude12. My personal opinion is that this may have delayed your greencard since July. Sometimes people get too anxious once their date is current and want to try everything that is possible to get approval. There is so much information and misinformation on forums.

I pray that your analysis is correct :)
someone had posted the following on Gotcher's blog
"I got this info from a source that for FY 2009, EB-3 India only used 2224 visa numbers and EB-3 china used only 1027 visa numbers. EB-3 Mexico used 3752, EB-3 Philipine used 5268, EB-3 ROW used 25081 visa numbers respectively. Total EB-3 visa nubmers used in FY 09 is 37352."
total 140,000
per country limit 140,000 * .07
per country per category comes to ~3k each
Important update on visa cutoff date movement - Page 2 - Immigration Information Discussion Forum (http://www.immigration-information.com/forums/general-immigration-questions/9117-important-update-on-visa-cutoff-date-movement-2.html)
You are wrongly mixing "country limit 7 %" into a "category limit 28.6%". Please read visa bulletin content.

lets ignore all the negative comments in this thread and stay focused.
Lets start with letter campaign and see what happens when new year starts. Does somebody has a letter drafted and ready to send out?

Initially I ignored this thread as some advertisement. Then I noticed that this thread was staying visible for several days. I got curious and started reading it and following the posts - Got convinced - Purchased the plan 2 days ago and I got my Vonage adapter today. I can now make long distance calls and calls to India all inclusive the 25 plus taxes.
This is super cool!
I called customer support and asked then to show me exactly where it says ALL India calls including cellphones are inclusive in free minutes. The support was nice and showed me this link
Vonage - Frequently Asked Questions (http://www.vonage.com/how_vonage_works_faq/?lid=faq_vonage_world&refer_id=WEBSR0706010001W1)

Are calls to mobile numbers free with Vonage World?
Vonage World includes free unlimited calling to cell phones in the Bahamas, Brunei, Canada, China, Guam, Hong Kong, India, Macau, Malaysia, Puerto Rico, Saipan, San Marino, Singapore, Thailand, the United States and the US Virgin Islands. See included country list

Smitha,
First, questions to you: What makes you visit this website silently?
Why do you even bother reading updates about ongoing GC issues?
You very well know that GC comes when the time is ripe, so you should really enjoy your sweet time instead of lurking on these forums.
Response to your meaningless and backward looking post: Iam glad you were not born during our independence days. Otherwise, you would have said the following (rephrased your post)
"
I am a silent citizen of this country (read India).
Just my 2 paise... Don't think UK is like India where you can do something forcefully. Why don't you guys understand the real problem of British.
Do you think that by performing salt satyagraha you can win over britishers and get Independence????
Please try to understand their problem.
Also UK is the great. Why don't you guys just think that UK is your home country where you can emmigrate and brought up. Why you people can't just wait and watch?? If nothing happens to the so called Independence, then why don't you think to pack up and get out of India???????
My sincere request, please don't do strikes, quit India movements, satyagrahas, you might be arrested......you never know what they can do..... Don't you think that, it is better to go to UK rather than being embarrassed here in India???
Isn't it a shame on us to go for Rally to get Independence?????:D
Just think that you will get it when time comes, otherwise quit India.
Please don't take much tension as life is very short. I am assuring you all, nothing will happen with freedom struggle and strikes.Don't irritate UK by doing all this please.
Born in India
BD-1975-May
Would like to emmigrate to any country where i can enjoy without a fight.

This is not a bad idea.
If everyone think this is a good idea, then we need to do this with a little more planning than the flower campaign.
We can route the pizzas to hospitals and orphanages, shelter for the homeless etc also.
Core group, please chew on this idea!

In filing for I-485 no one has mentioned copy of I-140 or copy of Labor cert.
My question is how does USCIS tally an AOS application to an already approved I-140 or labor certifcation and find out the PD for the application?
The A# number assigned in the 1 140 is the link

If your so called L1 brothers are not helping us by going thru the process.. why the hell do we help them.. Over that, these suckers always try to push us down whenever they get a chance , as they just don't want to and cannot empathize with our situations. People like these are the cause of the most of the trouble that we have everywhere in the world. They should learn, that the whole world follows "How to get in line".
STOP SUPPORTING THOSE SUCKERS.. THEY NEVER AND WILL BE OF ANY HELP TO YOU OR ANYONE ELSE.
L1FRAUD.. you had been talking a lot. have had you formally filed the complaint. even if you are a tunnel rat, i dun mind i always support what is right.. even if you are tunnel rat , unfortunately still I agree with you.. as for the first in your whole life you are right.
People please stop posting against our L1 brothers.
Just because you are not getting your own greencard fast enough, you are posting against L1s. If you had an opportunity, you will also apply as L1 for greencard. Did you all not try for Labor Subs? Antis are posting such messages to provoke you. If they want to report, let them report. Why creating fake profiles and posting against our L1 brothers.

Vonage was just responding to the competition.
Lingo has a world plan which included unlimited calling to 30 countries( India not included)
India calls were just 2 cents per minute. I switched to Lingo from Vonage 2 months back. Sensing this mass exodus, vonage came up with an even more aggressive plan.
Competition is good !

I am in for this.
If some one has entered US legally and filed for GC, it means (most of the cases) they will wish to naturalize at some point..Technically once GC is approved path to citizenship steps up.
I like this idea of pushing for citizenship..but I would like to remove the clauses of measuring length of stay from 140-approved or 485-applied etc.
Why shouldnt we say, anyone who worked in US for 5 years (which means paying taxes etc)
should be naturalized directly ...When they can make illegals legals why not us?
Do we have a group in Linkedin? If not, I can take up the responsibility of spreading through Linkeid groups for support (I dont like facebook so I am not on it and Linkedid is supposedly a professional network)

Dear dreamworld,
First of all thanks a lot for your reply and i further have some question if you could please help me understand that. the situations is that I have given my New I140 (EB2) to my lawyer and all he did was took a copy of my I485 receipt notice and said he will send that to USCIS. My PD on EB3 is Feb. 2003, how would I come to know if my EB3 PD was ported to EB2 by that I mean to how I would come to know if my I485 was ported to EB2 and still have PD of Feb 2003...
Thanks In advance

If a bad person who is going to fail a name check is already in the country, then name checks are not going to deter him from doing his thing. Just because a name check is pending without a GC means nothing to a potential bad guy.
If a foreigner tries to become a governor or tries to join a govt agency he goes through a lot more special screening than just name checks. It should be up to the FBI to fail or pass a name check and all benefits should be revoked if the FBI fails a name check. This is going to be rare and there is no need to fight the battle for somebody who fails a name check (which is where your argument is so extremely stupid). It happens in other spheres too, sometimes people lose their jobs after many years if the company finds that you falsified information like degree etc.
I am not going to stretch this discussion beyond this as it seems to me spiraling out of limits of reason. Of all the things you said to support your argument, the first part of your latest mail will kill any support you might get from any normal person. From your arguments I think may be you should change your name to "stupiddesi". YOu would even clear your namecheck easily; or may be not - too many of them ;-)

I never watch Lou Dobbs since I am never home in that time slot. But had a chance to switch to his program last week. Actually I did not want to see him but wanted to see which companies are sponsoring his show and would like to lose me as a customer.
Travelocity lost a customer in me. (I had a mixed feeling on this. When I used Travelocity the last time and I needed some customer support, the Travelocity person who tried to help me was an outsourcing company person in India).
