Back From Seattle!

Hallo!

Got back from our little trip to Seattle this weekend, and it was so nice to get away! We made it back across the border safe and sound with our new car =)

On Saturday the 7th we got a last minute flight to Seattle on Alaska Airlines.

Before long we were in Seattle. Neither of us have been there before, so we were both a little lost about how to get to the dealership. We figured it out and before long we were with the car that brought us there =)We decided to stay the week in Seattle and check out what the city had to offer. As originally said, we didn't end up going to California for it. The dealership sold the car we had our eye on, but it worked out better in the end because this one was a better deal. We debated still driving down South, but with only a week off, we decided not too. So I will have to visit L.A. next summer, without fail.I loved the spontaneity of the trip. We stayed in four diff hotels, one in the north, one in central, and one in South. Then one more in Spokane on the way back home. It was so funny just picking random spots on the navigation, driving up there and seeing if they had any open rooms available.We had to check out the first ever Starbucks. I loved walking around the city. Seattle has such a great culture, very unlike the boring city I live in =P. Ryan's career is so heavily based in oil and gas, so the cities we can live and be prosperous are limited. If Seattle was an oil mecca I would move there in a heart beat.

Walking around Pike's Place Market. I couldn't believe how cheap the giant bunches of flowers were. $10 for a beautiful bouquet that would cost at least $40 here.

And don't forget the giant octopus.Can't forget all the shopping .. this was one day's haulage. You Americans don't know how lucky you are to have all those shops. Ate lots of good junk food while there. Wish we had a Jack In The Box in our neck of the woods =)One of my new pairs of shoes. =) I got four pairs while I was there; will do a post on them soon =)

And finally the drive back up. I took a few videos that I'll need to post. I took so many more pics, but it takes forever to upload them to blogger.

Hopefully you got a general idea of how our trip was. I had a lot of fun and would definitely return to Seattle.

I can't wait to catch up on all your blogs and do more posts - a lot of new beauty review posts are coming, I took advantage of all the deals in the states =)

New Car

Here is our new car we are picking up from Seattle tomorrow.

Please don't think I'm boasting or anything silly like that; I post pics of everything so naturally a new car would follow suit. I remember a few years ago when I posted pics of my new modest 3 series BMW, I got pretty much harrassed with hate mail, calling me every name in the book. Don't ask me why a 3 series would generate such a commotion, but it did. Simple minds I guess.

It's a nice lil convertable that will be fun to take on cruises through the mountains in the summer and what not.

WOOO HOOO!!!! Did a little digging and got my bloggie back to normal. If you ever want to know how to give Kimberdoll a heart attack, cut all of her pics in half on blogger and have the first post start halfway down the page. Actually ... don't!

I'm off on vacation starting tomorrow! So I think it's going to be Seattle, San Fran, and L.A., and possibly Vegas on the way back up - oh and don't forget the new baby we'll be bringing home.... (the car)

What's In My Bag?

I Love the popular "What's In My Bag?" posts that I see on blogs a lot. I think the contents of a girl's bag can say a lot about what she's like! So without further ado ...

^This is my go-to bag for work, shopping, and running errands - The Audrey Coach Bag. I was admiring it at Holt Renfrew one day last year, so Ryan decided to give it to me as a Christmas gift a couple months later.

^Everything inside it^

My keys and makeup. Sometimes I'll carry more, but it's usually just foundation and lipstick/gloss.

My berry and hand lotion. Hand lotion is always a must in my bag! My hands get really dry. Also a bridal card that I still have from a few months ago when I was trying on wedding dresses.

My ipod, wallet and work id tag, back when my hair was shorter and darker. (2 years ago)

Sunglasses and Hairbrush! (which I always need cause my hair gets messy.)

So that's it! Pretty much everything I carry around with me. Of course there's sometimes an extra lipgloss or four, and lots of old receipts and gum wrappers, but I decided against taking pics of those =)

And Just For Fun ..

I feel like the only purse I ever put on my blog is this Coach one. And while I LOVE it, I wanted to share with you some of my other favorite purses!

I've always LOVED purses, more than shoes or any other type of accessory. I have a lot, but these ones are probably my fave!

Louis Vuitton Speedy 25

I think this is one of the most common LV bags in a girls collection. I like it 'cause it looks chubby and cute, and goes great with jeans for shopping, going to the movies, or running errands. I got it in Cancun when the brand new designer mall was built. (Can't remember what it's called). I loved that mall. Every designer store a girl could ask for!

Louis Vuitton Multicolore Lodge PM

This is probably my most cherished bag .. I got it at the Banff Louis Vuitton store by where I live in Calgary a few years ago and is probably the most expensive accessory I own. I've kept it in it's box since I got it, and try to only wear it on special occasions.

Christian Dior Pink Logo and Leather Shoulder Bag

This bag holds a special place in my heart because it was the first real designer bag I ever owned! I got it in one of the many Dior stores off Waikiki beach in Honolulu. I couldn't believe all of the stores they had there, they all seemed to be lined up for me and calling my name. Coming from Calgary, where good shopping is pretty much non existent, I was like a kid in a candy store. This dainty little purse was the cheapest one in the store (still a pretty penny, lol) and the only one I could afford, but I loved it so much. Back at the hotel room I would take it in and out of it's fancy box and tissue paper over and over again admiringly, then wrap it all back up with the ribbon. It was crazy, but I was in love. It's kind of hard to wear lots; I usually save it for evening dresses or sundresses.

Christian Dior Pink Canvas with Silver Charm

I got this bag at Wynn in Vegas a couple years ago. Can you tell I love pink? Dior are my fave purses, because they make the most feminine and dainty ones. I love the monogram on this one. I also love the charm. The shop lady said that Dior created charms on the bag to lightly ring for good luck when you're walking =)

Coach Slouchy Hobo.

I can't remember the actual name of this one, but it was my old daily go-to before the top one. It's a good bag with lots of room, and it goes well with anything.

I'm going going, back back, to Cali Cali.

Ok, so I've never been to Cali (as my post title would suggest - RIP Biggy), but that is all going to change in less than a month!

Cali has always been one of those places I've dreamed of going - particularly Hollywood! We all have those places that are kind of special to us, even though we've never been there. Another one for me is Tokyo, Japan, but that will take a few more years to visit. These places just intrigue me.

My fiancee sold his baby/car the other day so he could upgrade - seeing as how vehicles go for waaaay cheaper in the states than Canada, we are flying down to LA on Aug. 7, and driving the new ride back up the coast to Canada a week later!

I'm SUUUUPER excited ... been looking at hotels and everything all day today.

We're going to stop in Vegas too for a couple nights hopefully.

Vacation Recap & Giveaway Closure!

I had an amazing vacation! I uploaded only a few pics, but hopefully they give you an idea of the time we had - relaxing! We honestly did NOTHING but lay on the beach all day drinking mojitos. It was complete laziness and I loved every minute of it! I've spent too many "holidays" with an itenerary of activities longer than my arm, and while I love all of the things there are to do in the Carribean, I wanted at least one holiday where I did nothing but soak up the sun with a buzz =) It was definitely accomplished=)

The best part of the trip by far though, was our private dinner on the beach=)

It was a four course meal with our own private waiter, with crashing waves and candle light.

We also think we have FINALLY decided on a place for our wedding - Dreams Tulum. Hopefully all of the mayhem in Mexico will have died down by then .. (May 2011)
