I have A number ...I think that signifies AOS number or something...
What is your point?
Right, but that A# I found on my H1b approval (approved Oct 10 '07) is different from the A # in my 458 receipts.
Just trying to figure out if folks who had an A# in the H1b approval notice are also facing the PIMS delay. (just a wild guess).

mr whydidntufileurgc,
U completely understood me, my point was Vonage may start charging such as 1c per min after few months once they have got most of the new customers.
I am not talking abt 5000 min fineprint here.
yes I do have a job :)
Are you realistically gonna talk more than 3hrs on phone everyday sitting at home? Do you have a job?

My idea for presenting my views on NAME CHECK and PROGRAMMING problem is to REACH TO TRUTH as Mahatma Gandhi always preferred. I may be wrong also. Your views and comments would help improve this debate.
If my suspicion is true, then this (programming blunder) would be a CODE BREAKER. I got this idea bacuse of my background in genomics and bioinformatics. For example, if a gene sequence is not done well and there are some errors, gene database may erroneously show wrong HITS. This is the reason why gene sequencing is done throughly and accurately to avoid wrong interpretation. For example, simple error could mean nothing or a million dollar discovery.
If phoenetic program is appied to Davids and Johns, there would be countless hits. While they do not permit spelling error in your name during adjudication then why do they want to play with different spellings of your name??

I-485 inventory means number of 485 apps they have received or in their DB. ( simple )
I don't think USCIS will( should ) worry about the PERM applications/140-approved applications.IMHO that' be fortune-telling business for USCIS, that so many PERM/140 approvals will directly result into so many 485 applications.
I'm know USCIS trumped us before, but If I were to bet, I'd bet that these are straight-record count off their 485 applications.
Best!

Hi guys,
Sorry, I bit the bait and got off track. Let us focus on the issue again. Let us agree on a time line and act accordingly.
I would say, this week we work on drafting the letter (I took a shot at it, available @ page 2). Having 2 or 3 differently worded letter would probably be nice, but not necessarily.
Next week we start mailing the letters. We have about 500 responses in the poll for EB3, so if we can get most of them to send the mail (email/fax whatever), it should be a start.
We probably should start drafting a mail for our representatives/senators too, so that they too can follow up with USCIS.
We will face a lot of opposition, ridicule and nasty posts, but we should persevere if we want to get our GCs any time soon.

I spoke to IO this morning regarding NC clearance for my family (7/2 filers). I was told whereas, my derivative's (wife and daughter) names have been cleared but there is no information on my clearance. She furthur told me the names were submitted on 8/30/07 and was told to wait for another month or so.
Guys: What is your take on this? I have started worrying now. Although they say 120 day processing time- My understanding is you are either cleared in few days or get stuck in the hole.
Ladies ( usually derivatives ) gets cleared fast and male lions will be "stuck for years"

read their terms and conditions...the unlimited plan holds good for normal residential use.Normal residential use is defined as a usage of less than 5000 minutes.so basically it is a hidden way of saying 5000 min/month.if it goes over that vonage can disconnect your service or charge extra per their discreetion
Let it be 5000 min/pm. Still, 5000 min/month give about 2.7 hours per day. Talking 2.7 hours to India per 24 hours is unusual for many. I don't even get 30 minutes to talk. Even if we want to talk 2.7 hours you will be distrbing people in India, as they may be watching cricket or Tv serials.:)
Any way, this pan is simply superb compare to the situation before 10 years. Compare to many phone providers/cable compaines, vonage customer service is simply great, at least in my experience.

Near the start of his Nov. 4, 2003, program on CNN, Lou Dobbs said, One-third of the inmates now serving time in federal prisons come from some other country one-third. Later, he offered more details: Coming up, were going to take a further look at the impact of illegal aliens. And it is an expensive proposition, particularly in our nations prisons. Illegal aliens, those citizens noncitizens taking up a third of the cells in our federal penitentiaries.
He also said that illegal immigrants were an increasing part of Americas prison population.
Here are the facts, according to the Department of Justice:
In 2000, 27 percent of the inmates in federal prisons were noncitizens. Some of these noncitizens were illegal immigrants, and some were in this country legally. In 2001, this percentage dropped to 24 percent, and it continued dropping over the next four years, falling to 20 percent in 2005.
Bottom line: illegal immigrants make up significantly less than a third of the federal prison population, and the share has been falling in recent years.
The share of state prison inmates who are noncitizens is much lower. (This is largely because immigration violations themselves are federal crimes.) In 2000, 4.6 percent of inmates in state prisons were noncitizens. This number remained quite steady over the next five years, right around 4.6 percent.
Over all combining federal and state prisons 6.4 percent of the nations prisoners were noncitizens in 2005. This is down from 6.8 percent in 2000.
By comparison, 6.9 percent of the total United States population were noncitizens in 2003, according to the Census Bureau.
Anne Morrison Piehl, an economist at Rutgers, says there are a number of reasons that immigrants have a lower crime rate than the native-born population. (To read a paper by Ms. Piehl and Kristin Butcher on immigrants and crime, click here.)
For one thing, the consequences of being arrested can be enormous for illegal immigrants, which is an obvious deterrent to crime. For another, immigrants, as a group, arent typical of the population. The fact that they have picked up and moved to another country suggests that they have more ambition, and perhaps even more skill, than the average person. This could help explain why the United States, a nation of immigrants, is such an economic powerhouse.

The employer will come up with many excuses to not interview a candidate or hire. If the law doesn't allow you to discriminate when hiring based on national origin or EAD or whatever, rejecting candidates even for an interview doesn't make sense.
Interview is part of the hiring and recruiting processes. Would you say employers putting a job ad saying we will only interview someone from a particular nationality is allowed?
However, the more important point is we are fighting to get multi-year EAD in IV among other things. The law doesn't allow discrimination based on EAD for hiring. Let the govt lawyers and employers figure it out if not even interviewing candidates because of EAD comes under the purview of hiring or not and if it is legal or not.
yes, that is our line of logic and understanding. But seeing the number of experiences what we are having in real world, this does not seem to be applying. You are rightaway asked about your work status and they insist till you give them "specific" word - either "GC" or "Citizenship" or "EAD"... If this would have been the real way ( I and all of us wishes that) the these recruiting guys may not dare to insist till you spit the speific word out and that is before interviewing. In my experience, I always had verbal conversation. I have never been sent an email or letter by any company yet regarding their refusal not to even interview me based on EAD. Verbally 5 companies have starightaway told me "they are not considering me as I do not have green card yet - EAD is not enough". My thinking is that they do this because somehow some law may be covering them, we do not know that but they know that, perhaps..

I am very sorry to hear this. It should be a rare case that you have got 221g after your visa has been approved by visa officer.
Approach the consulate with your email, and they might give you a questionnaire to fill up. It must be regarding some additional documents being required.
Dont worry, you will come through!

There is nothing called h1b jobs. There is no job reserved for someone on h1b. So to say that people on l1 are taking h1b jobs is kind of funny.
At the same time, that anti-immigrant l1fraud is here to scare people and is against the community. But because most people here are not on L1, so most people are agreeing with l1fraud user. As if L1 folks are getting ahead of us, and L1 folks are taking our jobs, same mentality and outlook as that of the disgruntled programmers at programmers guild. Maybe there is nothing wrong about that because, humans as species have always behaved as part of the food chain, eating and living on the ones below us. Likewise, people here just want to blame someone else for their problems, including delay in GCs, on others on L1. So the entire focus of this thread is "l1fraud". From time to time, some anti-immigrant or someone from another site come in and divide people here without much of an effort, that we are just a bunch of losers, yes that's right, people who play into the hands of anti-immigrants and people who play into the designs of the agents of other agenda's are nothing but losers. Lets get back to blaming someone else for our problems. That's the best policy, keep it up.
Disclaimer-I'm not on L1 and I am not a damn fool.

if she applied for H1B the first package the lawyer sumitted should have copies of her I-20 and EAD. Look through the package you may find a copy in it.
i think the card was mailed directly to us
not sure the University would have a copy
wondering if the employer would have kept one this long...
