My Imperfections and Perfections!

Hi, Friends.

I'm sure you've seen the tag going around whereby you list off three things you DON'T like about yourself, and three things you LOVE about yourself. I thought I'd like to get in on the fun. I think it's great to show other people that everyone has flaws and insecurities, (even me with my airbrushed pics), but what you love about yourself will always outshine the negatives you think others see.

So, let's get right to it. Keep in mind this is all appearance based: (I may do a personality version at a later date!)

Three Things I don't like about myself:

1. My Chin

Or just my general face shape. My jaw line is super strong, and I have a high forehead. I can definitely look funky if I'm not careful.

2. My Skin

Super sensitive and needs prescribed dermatologist treatment. And even then, I can suffer a breakout more often than not

3.My torso

It's soooo long. I can look delicate and slender but a lot of the time my shirts don't come down enough to cover my bellyyy :(

Ok, enough bad stuff. We all know the good stuff is what REALLY counts, right?

1. MY EYES =)

Yes, I am in love with my eyes. I love the shape (large and almond), color (light hazel with golden ring), and how they have perfect 20/20 vision. (knock on wood) You know how everyone has ONE STAPLE that they are most consistently complimented on? For me it's always been my peepers =)

2.MY HANDS=)

They're really slender, delicate, and girly! I'm a 4 ring size and love it. I'd hate to have big old sausages attached to ma' hands.

3.MY LIPS=)

They have some nice cupid bow action going on, and I've been told they're incredibly soft. I also like that they're both around the same size, and that my top one doesn't disappear when I smile to reveal just teeth and gums. =P

Why did you start makeup blogging?

I got inspired by reading other girls blogs and thought "Hey, I could do that!"

What is your best kept beauty secret ?

Lots of beauty sleep, a sound skincare routine that suits your specific needs, lots of water, and regular excercise. There's four for you! Airbrushing and flattering angles never hurt anyone either ;)

What do you love about yourself?

My sense of humour! It's very weird and off the wall, and very few people share the same kind.

What is funniest thing you ever had happen or seen happen?

Hmmm, this is hard. I've seen so many. My finance cracks me up unintentionally all the time with certain things he/says does. It's why I love him =) My cats crack me up all the time with their weird animal behaviour. But I can't think of a particular instant.

What is Your Fave scent?

Fresh laundry, lysol lemon wipes, and, uh-oh (sharpies)

What do you find most annoying?

People with no integrity, pride, dignity, or respect.

What are your holy grail makeup products?

MAC Studio Fix Foundation, DIORSHOW Extase Mascara, Viva Glam Gaga Lipstick

What would you do for a klondike bar?

Hmm, you know what? I've never had one ... so I don't know what I would do =)

What Makes A Woman Classy?

I know this book's release date was in April, so I'm a little late doing a post on it. I only heard about the book yesterday, through a girl I work with, but I was instantly intrigued and headed to Amazon to order it. I love little girly handbooks, like "He's Just Not That Into You". They're so fun to read, and even if I don't learn anything new, it's always entertaining reading what life changing tips the authors offer up.

I got the normal, forever-and-a-day shipping when I ordered this book, so I won't get it for at least a couple weeks. In the meantime, I've been thinking to myself what "classy" even means. I think every girl wants to think of themselves as classy, but there are definite attributes that determine whether the girl is.





The dictionary defines Classy as:
class·y 
–adjective, class·i·er, class·i·est. Informal .

of high class, rank, or grade; stylish; admirably smart; elegant





I would like to consider myself a classy woman, in the modern day form at least. I don't hail from a family or scholars or aristocrats, not even remotely so, but I hold myself with poise and would say I'm pretty sharp. That being said, it's always a work in progress. To me, there are 3 definite attributes that make a woman "classy".





1. The Classy woman remains cool and collected at all times.

Ok, when I said that being classy for me is a work in progress, this is the area in which I need the most work. I don't have a bad temper per se, but I'm not good at appearing collected on the outside, when really I'm fuming. If I'm upset about something, I let it all out, to my detriment. So I've recently learned that being classy means choosing your battles. If a classy woman feels wronged or disrespected by someone, she doesn't pot shot or stoop to their level. She simply refuses to offer her attention or time to them anymore.





2. The Classy woman dresses tastefully

I think a lot of girls in their late teens, early twenties think showing more skin will get them more attention - I used to be on of those girls! But it's not the right kind of attention. A true gentleman will be intrigued about what is left to the imagination. You also need to dress for your body type. Nothing worse than ill fitting clothes on someone, or walking around constantly shifting your too tight attire.





3. The Classy woman treats everyone equal.

Whether the janitor or the CEO, she greets everyone by name, and treats everyone with respect.






I will let you know how the book is once I get it in the mail! Getting it shipped to my parents house again, so the delivery guy isn't stuck outside my condo again with no way to get in!

Well I'm sure I've already answered all the questions out there to be asked, so I decided to pull some random facts out to shock y'all a lil.

1. I love DAVID BOWIE

Like SO MUCH. I pretty much grew up with his music, or to a lesser extent, the "Labyrinth" soundtrack. It was my absolute favorite movie, and I have the special addition DVD today! I also love all of his 70s, 80s, and 90s music. I saw him live in 2003 and it was awesome! My fave songs by him are "Space Oddity", "Rebel, Rebel", "Just Dance" "I'm Afraid of Americans".

2.I have two cats

Left is Tibbs, 9 months, and right is BB, 5 years.

They're both rescue kitties; Tibbs I got from the Meow Foundation, and BB I took from an elderly lady who was moving into a home and couldn't have any animals there. They sleep at the foot of my bed every night.

3.Lily Cole is my fave fashion model

Because she is the most doll-like girl I've ever seen! She seriously is a doll incarnate

I honestly don't know what else to state about myself, I'm definitely at a loss for words. But if you would like to know anything about me, just ask =)

UPDATE!

Hey guys!

Sorry for the lack of updates this week .. been really busy and a wee bit uninspired as a result!

I've been taking spring/summer courses so been studying all week for my exam tomorrow (Organizational Behaviour - how boring!) and trying to stay on top of all the other content in the meanwhile. Also been working crazy 10 hour days as per usual and it's been RAINY in my city for the last few weeks :(. Oh well! I'm hoping summer will rear it's sunny face soon enough.

I'm excited for this weekend! Friday after shopping, I just want to relax and cook dinner with my man, watch all our fave shows, and have an early night. Saturday one of my really good friends from work, Chantal, is having a massive birthday party at her house and it's going to be so fun. You know those people who you just always have a good time with? So funny all the time? When we're together it's always just a blast.

Then Sunday it's Father Day, and my low maintenance dad of course just wants my family to meet up at his favorite pub for lunch. I definitely consider both my parents as friends before parents, and I love just chatting with them, my sis, and her boyfriend about anything and everything as I would with my best friends. Hopefully it will be nice out?

My Job

I feel so fortunate to merely be employed in the world's current economic situation. I feel so fortunate to work for the company I do, and to be given the opportunities I have been given while here.

My Family

We have braved poverty, disease and heartache together, and nothing in my opinion is stronger than the bond we share. I will fight to the death to defend my family.

My Friends

People come into life for a reason, a season, or a lifetime. I'm so grateful for each friendship I have maintained. I'm going over to one of my besties house tonight and can't wait. I'm thankful for her amazing cooking.

My Health

I'm thankful I can walk. I'm thankful I can perform every day tasks without assistance. I take care of my body daily because it is my temple.

Human Kindness

A smile from a stranger when you need it the most. A door held open by someone you least expect to do so. I love being taken by surprise by simple human kindness. There is just as much beauty in people as their is ugly. In my opinion, more.

Love

I am thankful to have found true love in my life. It is elusive and rare for many.

First, the incredibly girly & fabulous giant pink blush brush from F21.

Lets be honest, I probably won't use it much, but what make-up collection could go without one of these? For $4.50, it can just live on my vanity and look pretty =)Mini Sephora Haul:I didn't want to get too crazy with their 15% sale, (trying to keep my shopping in check) so I only got a couple things. I wanted to try a new bronzer, and my friend Robin that works there said the Sephora one was actually pretty good. So I picked it up along with some highlighting blush, baby pink lip liner, and a sharpener - everything Sephora brand lol.


I LOVED the Bronzer and highlighter, and they're probably the cheapest types in the whole store.



And last but not least, some new sky high heels from Bebe. I love 70% off sales!My guess is they are at least 5 inches. I can barely walk in them, but they're an elegant addition to the growing shoe collection =)
