I was in MI for a long time, so have called them up and have urged them to join IV.
Hopefully they will make the right choice and do the right thing.

i am on h4 and this was the first time a company filed for my h1b. so would that be ok if company "B" files for my h1b with h1b filed with company "A" is pending with RFE.

My 485 application was recieved by R.Cook@NSC too and no receipts or checks cashed yet. My application was delivered on July 18'th. My I-140 was approved on May 11'th 2007 by TSC.

I recently visited India(this july) with a new U.S passport and un endorsed PIO card( I did not know endorsement was required). Though i did not have to show the old passport, i carried with me anyway. No issues anywhere.

fionaapple20: Safest and clean route is to find an another employer and transfer H1B. Make sure your current employer does not revoke your 140, in case if its not approved. Additionally, it is highly recommended to invoke AC21 after your 140 is approved and 180 days passed.

My check for 485 was cashed on August 20 (process by my bank) and the online case status says receipt was mailed out. But my lawyer has not received it as of today.

Hi,
I came to the USA on F-1 student visa which is expired on 2005. Currently I have H1B status (I-797 form) (and NOT a stamped visa) and I-94 attached to the I-797 form.
My question is that. Can I visit Canada for less than 30 days and coming back without the need to get a visa (automatic visa re-validation) OR I have to get a visa?
I am worried because I never have a stamped H1B visa on my passoprt. Only H1B status + I94 which are not attached to the passoprt?
I need your help and how can I make sure as I do not want to lose my job.

I remember a bulletin from Murthy.com a few months back mentioning a rule where people going for first time H1 B stamping (from F1, H4) cannot get their H1 stamped in Mexico and the rule was soon to be followed in Canada as well. Please search the Murthy.com site for more information on this but i would advice going to home country.

I was successful in getting information for me and my wife in the same appointment twice. But to be safe I will book another appointment. If the IO had a bad day he/she may reject to give infomation on your wife's case :)

I was in the same boat and I can tell you that you have to pretty much depand on your company attorney. In my case it took 2-3 inch thick stack of documents to prove the relationship of the US company with its foreign subsidiary and if you are trying to get L-1A (multinational executive/manager), it will take another bunch of documents to prove your credibility, your existing status with the company as a manager/executive in the foreign subsidiary, your proposed role in the US company and a lot more. I guess it would be wise for you to let the attorney handle the case as you probably won't have much to do with the whole process. However, the positive news for you is that almost all of the well documented and properly filed L-1 petitions are approved by USCIS, and any experienced immigration attorney won’t have much of a problem getting you approved.:)

I don't think your lawyer knows what he's talking about. All you need is your I-140 receipt. I applied for my wife on July 2 and used my I-140 approval notice. Did not even include the I-485 notice as the instructions did not ask for it. The simple solution is to go online and download the official instructions and figure out for yourself.
I got myself in somewhat of a mess here and wondering if there is any solution?
I filed for my I-485 on June 28th and it reached UCSIS on 2nd July. I wasn't able to do the same for my wife as she was in India at that time.
She is back now and I want to file her I-485 but my lawyer tells me I can not do that because it either needs to be filed concurrently with mine or they need to have a receipt for my I-485 which doesn't seem to be coming in the next few weeks.
Is there anything else I can do? Anyone has similar experiences? Will a copy of my I-485 filing do?

This is standard message when USCIS receives an RFE response. I had the same message when USCIS received my I140 rfe response.

wanted to see the timeline of EAD renewals currently..I have a EAD renewal receipt notice date of June 18th......was wondering how many days is TX taking to approve the notice....
Did aanyone around June 15 -June 20th get any approval yet?
Isn't it too soon to expect it? They usually take 45 to 60 days. It has been only a couple of weeks.

To be 100% safe, wait for EAD.
But there are many threads where folks have given their inputs per consultation from their lawyers and have mentioned that EAD "part time" does not invalidate your regular H1 as long as you have continued with your regular H1 employment. Your case is in a grey area.
