i agree with crystal. If you are not yet married, i would advice to get married soon. Once if you plan to jump on EAD, it is not easy to come back to H1. If you apply for h1 extension, you have get it stamped..

This is a clear indication of they used the numbers illegaly. There is no way these errors will be accepted by court as a reason to revise the july bulletin.

retrogression!... if dates does not move and your wife were not able to file 485 before they approve your AOS... she will be out of status the day your 485 gets approved if she were to stay in dependent status (H4).. she has 180 days from the date of your approval to file hers.. if that doesn;t happen.. then she will have to leave the country to avoid problems..
I would say file it together.. thats the best..

Hi! I was on H4 for 3.5 years before getting a H1 when I joined a Residency program as a Pediatrician. Since for residency we sign 1 year contracts at the beginning of each year, my H1's are being done similarly as well. So they apply for 1 year H1's every year. I am in my 2nd and will be getting the 3 rd one in a few months.
My question...does my 3.5 year on H4 get counted towards the H1's 6 year limit.

Since my current EAD is expiring Sep 10th, I'm planning to go to the local USCIS office for an interim EAD in first week of Sep.
What is the procedure, do i need to take infopass or any other apoointment or just walk in with papers ?
It's not yet been 90 days since i filed, but i still want to give it a shot. I plan to take a letter from my employer saying without interim EAD (without me being able to work) company would face a setback in a critical phase of project.
I also plan to use such a letter in support of an expedite request.
Gurus please advice:
- How soon should I fax expedite request?
- How soon/late should i go to local USCIS office for interim EAD?
- Could one interfere the other?

The only option we have is to request for expedite process which we can do by calling the USCIS customer service number. This you can get it in the USCIS website.
I think we can get the infopass only if 90 days has passed or if your EAD is going to expire soon and you need immediate attention.

I e-filed,got my EAD in 2 months,AP in 5 months
My wife efiled,got EAD and AP in 5 months.
We went for FP for sure!
So it can be a long process even when you efile.

My I-140 and I-485 also has different A numbers. I had 2 more approved I-140s which has different A numbers as well. How and when will get consolidated to a single file?
Gurus who have more insight into this process, please enlighten us.

I think its ok to have different A#'s except when you are trying to get your I-485 adjudicated and you want to use the earliest PD from your multiple I-140's.
I think its easier for USCIS to consolidate your I-140's and 485's into a single A-file

After opening 3 SR's and letter through Attorney and finally infopass appointment (not yet done) got the FP notice for my self today (for the first time and applied for EAD renewal).
My dependent (my spouse) has not received her FP notice yet.
Questions:
1. FP is scheduled for Aug 16 2008 (which is Saturday) and is it common to have FP notice scheduled over the weekend in Dallas TX.
2. My spouse did not receive her FP notice, can I take her along with me for the appointment with all the Recipts (I mean all the req docs), will that work
3. And I have infopass appointment on Aug 12 would that help in finiding more details about my case?
Gurus, Please answers/provide your experience/suggestions to the above questions.

People keep talking about RFE and LUD (soft LUD, hard LUD). Can someone explain what these are and what do they signify? I have my EAD, AP and my 140 is just approved. I have already passed 180 days after the filing of 485. If I change jobs can my employer still revoke my I-140 and harm my 485? These may be repeated questions but I am new to the forum .. and I m unable to get specific answers.

If your I-140 is approved then the employer cannot revoke anything. You are completely free, under AC-21, to change employers. It is the situation with an unapproved I-140 that is ambiguous.

Since you have completed the important formalities for two.
Police compliant & applying for replacement cards. You are good.
If you need to travel outside USA, you can get your passport stamped stating that you have a GC. That should your travel needs. Now a days, replacement cards are very fast. You should be able to get them in 3 months period. Do not try to give false information to USCIS (Some one suggested you in this group)
