Training and educating who doesnt have the background takes yrs. Businesses cannot afford to wait that long time. I feel that Jim Austin didnt address your question but asked you another question. Maths and Science are the 2 subjects US citizens need to pick up right from school. There is nothing much any one can do to change it night over night.

Hi,
The notice doesn't say that I-485 was denied. for I-140, it says notice of Automatic revocation. For I-485 it says Acknowledgement of withdrawl. It looks to me that my previous desi employer actually withdrawn the I-485 application and thats the reason it says the I-140 is automatically revoked.. But how can they withdraw my I-485 application ?

Since my PD only became current in May that was the earliest I could apply so my processing time is not unusual. The ones who are getting approved within three months are the unusual cases.

I personally think that 6 month rule-of-thumb is nonsense.
AC21 clearly states you can switch employers 6 months after your green card application has been pending. On what legal basis could USCIS then come back and deny citizenship to anyone for switching employers too soon after getting their green card?
I'd really be interested to hear if someone has specific knowledge of a case where someone had their citizenship denied due to switching companies too soon after getting their green card.

Yes, WE do need to make sure to contact our congressmen and make sure they understand one thing (make those letters, faxes small and to the point):
Point is: "Visa recapture bill DOES NOT ADD any new visa numbers. This bill simply allows the use of LOST visa numbers due to administrative delays over past few years." THAT'S IT! no more arguments or appeals.
Visa recapture bill is not a bill to ask for MORE. It is a bill to use the existing numbers which went to waste despite of high demand due to administrative delays...
I stopped by at my congressman's office and conveyed this message twice (one letter and another verbal communcation as a follow up on that letter). (I am lucky!! his office is two blocks from my home as he lives in same town).

Agreed it's frustrating to go thru a roller-coaster ride as far as GC is concerned. I believe members of IV are leaving no stone unturned to tide over the GC hurdles by speaking in one voice and acting in unison.
Literally, we must have the 'staying power' to do this. If people wanna go back to their home country, it's their personal decision. Impatience and frustration should not be the driving factor for people to return to their home country.

Indian American contributing $5 million to Hilary clinton. THey have already collected $1million in short span of time. How about organizing Sharukh and Amithab to perform a show for IV in major cities like NY/NJ/Chicago and SFO. If anyone has contacts with organisers of these events, we can try to do something.

Trust me my friend, I have seen it happen all the time, from large Telecom firm to Govt., its always there, most of the consultants just doesn't come to know about it, but the cut for the managers is there in some form, almost always. Why do each manager has a specific vendor through whom they want to hire most of the time? What else is the reason for the client to pay the consulting company $180/hr but they won't give 'valueablehurdle' anything more than $50-60/hr?
On a different note, now that NSG approved the waiver, most desi uncles, some of them are also owners of desi consulting companies will claim that they are the father of Nuclear deal. These bastards (sorry for my french) always oppose any GC fix and they tell their favorite congressman/senator (each has atleast one favorite politician for whom they do fund raisers) that gc backlog is not an important issue for the community. India Abroad, Times of India, rediff and other desi portals/newspapers will write 'Oliver North' style stories about these desi uncles knowing well that companies like GE etc put their weight behind the deal as it will create commerce to commerce over $20 billion/yr. But desi uncles/orgs will not stop claiming to be the father of nuclear deal. The fact is, most of these desi uncles made noise not because they wanted to do something for their country of birth, they are doing it because they think that if the nuclear deal passes, they can play middle man for US companies to sell the technology/material to Indian companies/govt. Most of the so called 'united voice of Indian-Americans on the Hill' organization's goal is to make big bucks by playing 'middle man' for companies wanting to sell technology to India. And as always, just as 'valuablehurdle''s client (paying $180/hr) Indian govt. will pay double the cost. These desi companies have squeezed blood of people waiting for gc, but now they think its time to move on to play big game with the big boys. These desi uncles/orgs are going nuclear.... time for Rediff and India Abroad to play Oliver North. Sometimes the line between capitalism and cycle of corruption is extremely blur. The problem is, these desi uncles/orgs claim to be representatives of entire Indian-American community, sometimes the entire immigrant community. They don't know more than 100 people, but they claim to be the leaders of all 2.5 million indian americans. my friends..... all suggestions/opinions I got were encouraging and guiding..... never the less I got many REDs and bad comments... but its OK.... when you post on Open Forums..... people are entitled for their opinions...... So thank you......please vote if you still haven't..... I thought about my questions even more over the weekend..... I think I will put 5% down + PMI...... and take a risk after winter when home prices are traditionally depressed.... see what happens......
