My Handmade Jewelry and Wedding Update!

My newest hobby is jewelry making. My mother in law got me started at this. At her house she has boxes of beads, pearls, wire, Swarovski crystals, gold chains, sterling silver chains, and everything else under the sun one would need to make beautiful jewelry. The last couple Saturdays I have spent over at her house, and she's been showing me how to make gorgeous jewelry.

Here are my latest creations:

Pearl and Swarovski Bracelet:

Ryan's mom designed this and I made it. I really like the way it looks; it would match perfectly with my wedding dress!

Sterling Silver Crystal and Pearl Drop Earrings:

I was just playing around with beads, crystals, and dusty pinks pearls here. I may make them into earrings or an anklet, not sure yet.

I'm loving jewelry making so far! I like designing feminine and delicate  pieces so far, full of pale pinks, ivorys, crystals and pearls. I think it would be intereting trying some lace inspired jewelry; very vintagey and antique looking.

Just wanted to share the first few things I've made with you =)

Wedding Update

We have gotten a lot done, but there is still to BE DONE. It really never ends until you are walking down the aisle, and even then, you are planning your life together in your head! Here is where we are at thus far:

Things to Do @ 4 Months Prior:

- Book the rehearsal and rehearsal-dinner venues.
-Select and order the cake
-Send your guest list to the host of your shower
-Purchase wedding shoes and start dress fittings.
Schedule hair and makeup artists.
 -Choose your music

So we are doing ok, considering we've got 2 out of the 6 tasks done and it's April 1st tomorrow. (Wedding is on July 30)

We went to a cake tasting last weekend at Brulee Bakery (cutest website ever - check it out) and got to taste some lemon cream, strawberry vanilla mouse, cococnut cream, chocolate raspberry cream, and chocolate wedding cakes. They were all good, but we both agreed that the chocolate raspberry was our favorite.
So we want a chocolate raspberry buttercream cake (fondant=YUCK), with white cherry blossom exterior. (2 tier). It should look something like this:

Still not sure if we will be using real flowers from the florist for the blossoms, or have the cake designer create sugar flowers. We will see!

The exciting part will be wedding shoe shopping! I'm debated going all out for a high end pair. What do you think? Or a more affordable pair of mid priced Vivienne Westwood's might not be bad either:

I love the heart on these, and the low heel would be perfect to wear throughout the day, plus they would add a fun element to the dress. (No one would really see them). Can't find the pink ones online though, only the white/black which isn't near as much fun!

Any advice on good wedding shoe options?

Rimmel Glam 'Eyes Day 2 Night Mascara Review

Hello!
There have been a few new "2 in 1" mascara products out there recently, and while at Shoppers I decided to pick up Rimmel's version This was under $10. I've been using two different mascaras, (one volumizing, one lengthening) to achieve the ultimate in lash glamour for eons now, so was excited to see what this two in one would be like.
It's basically two different wands coming out of the same formula, so it's the separate brushes that determine whether you get length or volume.
As you'll see in the photo, the smaller pink capped wand gives you length, while the black capped wand gives you volume.

The Length wand gives you feathery, wispy lashes that you definitely wouldn't want to leave alone; but the  volume wand amps up the lashes quite a bit.

Here is what it looks like with a few generous coats of each:

As you can see, not bad, but not outstanding.

Recommend?: I would recommend using this for an every day mascara for work or school; there are definitely worse ones out there! This mascara is not enough when you really want to make an impression for a night out or special occasion, though.
Similar products I've Tried: Maybelline The Falsies, Covergirl Lash Blast.
This mascara is very similar. It is buildable like these, and really not too bad considering the price.

My favorite mascara combination for achieving out of this world lashes is:

L'oreal Telscopic Explosion + Lancome Hypnose Drama

This will make your lashes unbelievably lush without the artificial straight edged line of fake lashes.

I rate Rimmel Glam 'Eyes
3/5 stars
Factoring in price, packaging, and results!

Have you tried this? What did you think?

Little Beauty Haul and March Girls Night

Hallo!
How was your weekend?
I received a Sephora coupon in my email late Friday afternoon, so decided to stop by after work. You got Benefit's new Pore Fessional Face Primer and one of their new face creams if you spent over $50. I'd been having a serious shopping craving so it was just what I needed. =P

I decided to get the Too Faced Naked Eye Palette.

As I'm sure you know, the Urban Decay Naked palette is still impossible to get ahold of. It's sold out on their website indefinitely, and it's never at Sephora. So I decided to try this Too Faced one, and it's pretty good, too!

I used it before I took these pics, so that's why the palette looks a little dirty.

Swatched:

I finally decided to get the famous Urban Decay Primer Potion, in the original sheer shade. I've been using a MAC Paint as a primer which is super good too, but I'm glad I tried this.

This is my new fave nail polish! Revlon Top Speed in Orchid. These are my fave nail polishes; they dry SO fast.

Here are the free Benefit items I got. (Sorry this pic is turned sideways; for some reason pics upload like this sometimes).

The Benefit Pore Fessional Pro Balm to minimize the appearance of pores.
This is an awesome primer to smooth out your face before applying foundation .. I love it, and glad I got it for free! I would definitely pay for it.

And Benefit's new Total Moisture Facial Cream.

You can get an idea of how the primer worked on my skin.

I hope you had a great weekend! I had Monday (today) off, so another short week for me, which I always love!!

New Do!!!!

I am extremely aware at how popular long wavy hair is. It's gorgeous and amazing and wonderfully feminine. I have worn this look for the last 3 years. It's one that doesn't seem to want to go away, with reasons that I am sure that I could fill a post with :). However, yesterday, I reached my breaking point! It had to go and right then. Thanks to one of my best friends and co-workers, Shelli Martin, I now am "ROCKING" the most adorable short hair! I haven't had hair this short since I was 22 and let's just say that was a while ago! ;)

I thought it would be fun to post some pictures of what my hair has looked like just since I started this blog last August...The results are pretty fun. It's interesting how I think that my own hair doesn't change very much...But, I guess I am wrong. It changes way more than I ever thought it did. That is one of the wonderful things about hair...Two actually. The first being that hair does grow. {Otherwise I would be out of business along with the rest of the hair world} Secondly, our hair is one of our accessories. Just like you don't usually wear the earrings, necklace, handbag, shoes, etc...everyday, you can change up your hair to reflect who you are at that moment.

Have fun looking at these pics and I hope that they might just be inspiring "enough", to create some sort of hair change for you! {Even if it is a small one!}

Blonde longer hair from when I started the blog.

Enter, blonde extensions, which I loved! So fun!

A fun little side braid that I would sport with the extensions.

The, OMG, "I don't have any hair now that my extensions are out and I need to make a change ", look.

The result after doing my color in my bathroom. {I still don't recommend this!}

Me presenting my model at our 8th anniversary party.

One of the haircuts that inspired my new look...

Shelli in the process of making it look fab!!!

And, now, MY NEW DO!!!!

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my hair!!! Thank you Shelli! You are the best and you are amazingly talented...Especially seeing as how I "pressured" you into cutting my hair! Love you!

Have a wonderful day everyone!!!!
