Shows I am Loving At The Moment

Jersey Shore
YES, I got sucked into this pure trash and I'm ADDICTED & IN LOVE

Big Bang Theory
A less guilty admittance, this show makes me laugh like few other can!

Hell's Kitchen
Probably my most fave right now ... I love Gordan Ramsey! He's such a raging bastard to everyone on the show and it's great. Very talented man.

Glee!
This show is amazing. I never watched it last season, but this season I am getting hooked. Did you see the Britney Spears tribute last week?!?!? Amazing =)

As the new tv season got fired up last week I was over joyed to have my fave shows back ... along with some new ones!

I NEVER used to watch t.v.... but since me and Ryan started living together I'm finding it more and more enjoyable to instead of go out and get smashed on the weekends, stay in with some good food, my love, and all of our DVR'd shows from the week =)

Maybe lame? I LOVE IT

Daily Giggle

My fiance emailed me this today, and it made me laugh because it is so true for me.

hahaha - YES I am British. My parents immigrated here when they were 30 and I'm the only Harrison born in Canada (and without an accent)

YES I drive a German car lol. 2 in fact! hehe

Every weekend YES I go to an Irish pub with my family and order beer (Dad is Irish) (albeit not Belgium but close enough!)

My leather couches are SWEDISH from Ikea!!!

I'm a sucker for American reality and ......

My TV is a SHARP .... from Japan!!!

I guess one major factor not included is I live in Canada ... pfffft - minor =)

To Shampoo or Not to Shampoo?

Recently, I have been getting the, "Should I be shampooing my hair everyday?, Every other day?, Once a week???"...So, here are my thoughts on this subject.

~How often you shampoo or don't is different for everyone. You included. Some people who have oily skin probably need to shampoo once a day to once every other day. I definitely fall into this category. I have oily skin everywhere. I HAVE to shampoo my hair, at the very least, every other day. Sometimes I get on kicks where I will shampoo everyday but not always.

~Some people fall into the "You can shampoo every other day to every 3rd or 4th day". I won't even tell you what my hair would look like if I waited that long. Let's just say that I could solve the worlds "oil" problems all by myself :).

~Some people can shampoo once a week and you probably would never notice. they usually have very dry skin every where and have very curly hair.

OILY SCALP
~I do not buy into the, "You can train your skin/scalp into not producing as much oil if you don't shampoo everyday". You can't go in and regulate your oil production. I wish I could. Believe me!

~There are products designed to help you go an extra day or two.. They are called, "Dry Shampoos". The best one that I have found that is inexpensive, is called, "Psssst". Bartel's carries this particular brand. It has a pleasant smell and is very easy to use. You want to make sure that you direct the product at the roots of your hair so that the dry shampoo can absorb excess oils and debris.

~Now, if your hair is matted to your scalp all the time, you may not be...1.Getting the shampoo down to your scalp. 2. You have product build up.  3.You aren't shampooing thoroughly enough. 4. You're applying conditioner on your scalp and are not rinsing it out well enough.

~If the above sounds like you then the best way to remove excess oil or products, is to use a clarifying shampoo and apply a large amount to dry hair, at the scalp, BEFORE you get in the shower or wet your hair. Sometimes the water can interfere with the shampoo's ability to do it's job.

(Disclaimer...If you color your hair, check with your stylist before using any type of Clarifying shampoo.)

NORMAL SCALP
~The flip side is that there are people who shampoo everyday that probably shouldn't. If your hair isn't matted to the top of your head with oil when you wake up in the morning, you can probably go an extra day.

~The best thing to do when you have normal scalp conditions, is to shampoo your hair one day and then, day two, RINSE your hair, and run conditioner through your ends. This will help to keep some necessary oils in the hair and also, this is better for your color.

~Not shampooing everyday does help with the prevention of color fading. If you color your hair any shade of red, the less you shampoo the longer your color will stay vibrant.

~Not shampooing everyday also helps eliminate frizz that occurs after shampooing. Some people find that they like their hair much better the second day because the frizz has left the building. :)

DRY SCALP
~ There are people that fall into this category. (lucky) You probably only need to shampoo your hair every 3rd to 5th day.

~I think that is great as long as your scalp doesn't get smelly. Your color's vibrancy will probably last much longer than the average color that is shampooed regularly.

~Most African American people will fall into this category. When you shampoo make sure that you use heavy conditioners to keep hair from being brittle.

~You can also use leave-in-conditioners, on your hair. Then style as normal.

A Little Mid Week Shopping

Hola Dolls!
As it usually does, a shopping craving crept over me unannounced today. Nothing too serious, don't worry. I got some BOOKS! This first one below I've been anticipating for a long time. It's not released until Oct. 5 ... so I preordered on Amazon!
Lauren Conrad's thrid book in her impossible to put down LA CANDY series=) I've been waiting for a year for this, so super excited for it to come in the mail in a few weeks.

Amazon is great at twisting book lovers arms. If you bought her second book along with the first one, you got free shipping! I got both of these books for $20 which is outstanding! (hardcover)

On my lunch I made my way down to HMV. I was wondering if Tiesto had a new cd out, 'cause I heard a very Tiestoish song yesterday on the radio. Like I said, I still buy cds, but only if I love the artist enough to not download it. Well he doesn't have one out, but I bought Armin's newer cd instead. I loved his last cd Imagine, so hopefully this one is good!

I'm checking out the new wing of Chinook Centre this Friday on my day off - super excited!!!!

Ta =)

Outfit - Fall is for BOOTS

Halo
Photobucket

Jacket:Costa Blanca - Jeans:DKNY - Crosses:F21 - Boots ..... WINNERS!

I felt rather grand-high-preist-ish in this little number ... what with my buttoned trench with crosses spilling out. But the stars of the show are clearly my new pair of pointers.
From ..... WINNY!!!

{A steal @ $59}

I'm now on the look for some sqround flat knee highs, and thigh high pointers. I already have about 5 pairs of ankle boots, so need to cool it a bit with those.

Whenever Fall comes along, I'm always so excited to pull on boots.
Do you love boots as much as me?

Simple Daytime Look

Following my dramatic evening look from last week, I decided to do a simple daytime look for you today

MAC Studio Fix foundation N25

Body Shop Blush in Coral

Sephora eyeshadow in ivory sheen

Dior Lash Extase in Black

L.A. Girl liner in black

Urban Decay Brow Powder in Brunette

GOSH lipstick in Pink Ice

Hard Candy gloss in Pixie
My skin looks darker in the below pic. This one is airbrushed as opposed to the above one which is untouched.
This GOSH lipstick is very heavy and vibrant.. so I blot it a lot and then add the gloss over top to give it a softer look. I do love the pigmentation of GOSH lipstick. They are on the more expensive side for a drugstore brand, but they last a long time!
For day looks I stay away from heavy liner, crease eyeshadow, contouring, and heavy lines of any sort! Compare this to my evening look and you will see what I mean.

Fab Hair

So, what's a girl to do when it is rainy and icky outside??? She goes in and gets her hair colored and then does the Brazilian Gloss treatment!

And that is exactly what I did!

We had our Brazilian Gloss class last Sunday and I have been chomping at the bit to get a treatment done on myself since then. Krystal was kind enough to spend the morning with me. First, she colored my grays away, (thank goodness), then she applied the Brazilian Gloss to my tresses. Thanks Krystal! You're the best! Poor girl, she had to deal with my lovely extensions, but she did me proud!

Let me show you what my hair looked like before...Roots and all :)

It definitely isn't horrendous but the hair needs to be managed. It has been 6 weeks since having extensions put in. After weeks of abuse it's time to renew their luster and softness.

Enter, Brazilian Gloss!!!

Here is a shot after the treatment has been applied and combed through. Krystal is getting her workout for sure!!!
See my bonds above?! They are hanging in there. :)

This is the final result! Smooth frizz free hair! Too bad you can't put your hands through my hair right now!

You would be very envious.

Rapunzel is back! ;)

Nordstrom Event with St. John

Nordstrom Seattle had a Personal Appearance with St. John. Here is their Fall/ Winter campaign for 2010...

Our hair inspiration for the in house event was different from the above pictures. But, none the less, the hair was very chic and elegantly understated.
Sleek, deep side part pulled back into low chignon at the nape of neck. Here is a look at some of the " behind the scene action shots"...

Have a happy Sunday!!!
