a compromise has been reached between Democrats and Republics for CIR.

Lets hope all those eligible for I485 get green card asap.

Hi,
I have already filed my I-485 in Aug 2007. My employer is moving to a new office space in the same city. It is almost 2 miles from where I'm working now. Do I need to notify USCIS of this change? If so, how would I do it? Could anyone please suggest.

Folks,
My GC was applied with employer A in Nov-2005. 485 applied during July 2007 fiasco. Even though I have EAD/AP, I have always maintained H1B status.
Recently got H1B transferred to employer B and its approved for 3 years.
My H1B visa (from employer B) will expire this month.
Can I make a trip to India and re-enter using AP, and still maintain H1B status?
I dont want to go through the hassle of going for H1B visa stamping for 10th to 12th year.

I got my PERM labor approved yesterday, for applying I-140 were can I find the processing dates for I-140? I mean specific to Country? Because, if I go to https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/jsps/Processtimes.jsp?SeviceCenter=NSC the processing time for "Skilled worker or professional" is April, 1 2008, does this date apply for all? Thanks in advance.

I am sorry for posting this message on the Immigration group because it doesnt really relate to the immigration issues. I have been a part of this group for a long time, and hence I thought of sharing this with you all. Although we all are here in the US, we all have our families and friends back home in India. Please take couple of secs to finish this poll. No matter what was your case for interview..extension, renewal, first time..when was H1/H4 etc approved..where it was approved..etc etc..nothing matters. All that needs to be tracked is wait time.
As long as New Delhi consulate please do this and this will give an idea for wait times.

My friend is in H1. she is in bench since oct 2008. she had only one project for 2 months in 2009. but her employer is paying her also in bench, though the salary is less compared to what she was earning while on project. now her h1 is expiring in july 2010. now she is planning to use her EAD. but with EAD also she will be with the same employer(consulting firm). she is planning to visit India in may for one month and will be entering US with advance parole, not h1 visa. my question is that as she is in bench for so long time( though getting salary), will it be a problem for her to be back in USA. Is there a chance that she will be asked to go back from Airport as is happening with h1 holders.

Hi,
The company I am working for is filing for GC.
They have posted an ad,and all the mandatory work is done.
HR up here have received some resumes for this ad.
After reviewing these resumes, attroney says they may have to place a new ad, as they have recieved a resume which qualifies the position from a local person.
I spoke to my manager and he says the same thing.He told me he did not even interview the local guy who applied.
Is this the only way out of this position. Please advise.

USCIS reports that 1000 H-1Bs were receipted over the past week with 34,500 now counted. 400 masters cap cases were added bringing the total to 13,000 in that category. Well need some help. I moved from H1-B to F1 visa to do masters. Now I want to quit F1 in middle and go back to doing H1-B and continue masters part time.
I know there are still slots open for H1-B for 2010. Please correct me if I am wrong.
Now I can do summer internship untill August 26, the question is, how can I work for the employer for the month of September? since H1B starts on Oct 1st. I can do CPT full time but, then again I heard you can not quit CPT in middle of the semester.
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Illegal non-immigrants did the rally to local USCIS offices. It would be good if we pick one day in 2nd week of July and have a rally to local USCIS offices. This will immediately catch the media attention.
